Hannah Maestri of Fort Smith, AR is attending the University of Arkansas to achieve a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. She was inspired by her mother, a 20-year career nurse at Mercy, to pursue a career in the health professions. She was also inspired by physical, occupational and speech language therapists who had assisted her mother during a long illness, where she saw the “profound impact that SLP’s can make on the lives of their clients”. Hannah will graduate in May 2023 and have an “array of possibilities” when it comes to settings where she can work, and we hope that she will land in the River Valley area.
